Controls definition
A conveyor control brief should state the intended speed range, local and remote modes, sensor functions, machine-ready conditions and the response to downstream blockage. A variable-frequency drive can provide speed control, but the permitted range must be checked against the motor, gearbox, cooling and mechanical limits.

Guarding and isolation

Cleaning and washdown
“Washdown” is not a complete specification. Record the soil, cleaning chemical, concentration where known, temperature, pressure, exposure time, frequency and drainage route. Then check belt or chain material, wear strips, bearings, electrical enclosures, joints, hollow sections, access and the approved safe cleaning method.
